now it's clear just by perusing their homepage that the goal of the national council of churches and the world council of churches is not to withdraw or avoid those with differing traditions or contrary doctrine, but to unite them by casting aside the truth! not just through 'ecumenism', but religious 'syncretism'. ecumenists don't draw many distinctions between so-called 'christian denominations'. in other words, (according to their delusional belief), all 'christian' denominations are members of the body of Christ and therefore should unite. syncretists believe that all religions should unite, Christians, jews, muslims, buddhists, zoroastrians, etc. now of course this ecumenical/syncretistic movement is wholly evil. for Christians, muslims, and jews do not maintain the same traditions and doctrines that the apostles commanded us to hold fast. their doctrines are quite contrary. there are 35 members in the NCC and almost 350 members in the WCC. maybe those on this thread should check to see if their heretical 'church' is a member. Cyprian p.s. remember, the holy apostle paul said to WITHDRAW and AVOID, not unite with those who teach contrary doctrines and traditions. this is basic Orthodox Christianity. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. --Ephesians 5:11 st. paul did not say join together in unity and fellowship, praying with heretics, and issuing joint declarations, but....
