Re: Schroeder said Germany's had a "historic duty" to support the United States because of U.S. aid to post-World War II Germany. Indeed, and like the Marshall Plan, Germany's help to the US will prove self-serving: any oil/gasoline shortage on the US market drives the prices up WORLDWIDE, that is, in Germany as well.... European consumers' purchasing power has already been badly hit by the oil/gasoline spike --and winter's heating binge has yet to come.... Gus
