They have a mini-Mariel Boat Lift on their hands with all the consequences of moving the bad guys out with the general populace.

Exporting the thugs occurred to me also. Glad I'm this far north.

I would give the local and state governments an F but I still think the federal response which is really clicking now gets a C-. It's not the total failure some think it is, it just takes a little time. 8 mile long convoys of food, water, boats and buses arriving on day 3 after the dike failure isn't that bad. I mean it was later in the day Tuesday before everyone knew how bad this was really going to be. This shit isn't staged and waiting and it takes time.

Again though the lesson I am really taking away from this is we as individual's need to be able to survive for 2 weeks without services and without organized law filled society. I think you especially want to get yourself prepared for that in the event of the next big quake.

Edit: FEMA though gets an F minus. Some real evaluating needs to be done with this batch of bozo's.

it will be nearly impossible to distinguish between good victims and bad victims (the thugs terrorizing the city now).

I have had exactly the same thoughts....that it is hard to tell which victims are the true victims. Recently there have been offers from across America for victims to share a home, or use a rental home without charge for a few months. I seem to live in an area where owning two or three homes isn't unusual...and I'm sure there are many "vacation" homes that are vacant during most of the year. Offering a home for someone to use seems like a humanitarian thing to do...but how do you know exactly who you would be helping? I've noticed that some companies are helping other employees in their own company, which seems like a positive step.
