Here is a short story: Big Oil Spill Spotted Near Tanks on Miss.
news.yahoo.com
NEW ORLEANS - A huge oil spill was spotted near two storage tanks on the Mississippi River downstream from New Orleans, state officials said Friday.

The oil was seen in a flyover to the Venice area by the Department of Environmental Quality.

"Two tanks with the capacity of holding 2 million barrels appear to be leaking," the department said in a statement.

No further details were given.

Not from a tanker, from a stationary tank. Venice is right on the mouth of the Mississippi and was more or less flattened by the storm, it caught the eye I beleive, so it's really not too surprising.

Stories in days to come will be focus on the environmental disaster left behind. New Orleans may make Love Canal look like the clean room of a semi manufacturer......

Havent't heard anything about it. There are small spills all the time; the response is practically instantaneous. Today, the CG and the private contractors probably cannot respond as quickly as they normally do.

Oh, boy.

If it's not one thing it's another.
