I agree that the best idea is the relocation plan. I am afraid that what we are going to end up with are large temporary and highly unstable camps of poor people, almost all of them black. I hope not.

Yes, the tax ideas are clumsy, but at least someone threw out an idea and we can hope that a serious discussion ensues. Maybe Congress will reconsider that pork barrel transportation bill and transfer the $231 million for that bridge to nowhere in Alaska to somewhere that needs it. My brother mentioned the other day that Reagan vetoed a transportation bill because of 138 identified "pork barrel" projects attached but Bush signed this one with over 6,400 such "pork barrel" projects.
