Whether more aggressive flood control measures would have made a difference is an unknown, but funding for the delta area the past few years is sure to be scrutinized.

I mean, the guy is pretty amazing, but he ain't Superman!

I disagree. Only a "Superman" could have :

- turned our budget surpluses into record deficits,
- exported a record number of high-tech jobs abroad,
- converted universal post-9/11 sympathy into universal contempt for the US,
- got almost two thousand US soldiers killed,
- got another 20 or 30 thousand of our soldiers maimed,
- killed anywhere between 25,000 (most conservative estimates) and 100,000 Iraqis,
- got rid of fundamentalist Iran's arch-rival in the Gulf,
- set up an Islamic Republic in place of a secular one AND
- got a few thousand of his own citizens drowned in storm water...

And all within the space of 4 years.

Someone on T/V last night mentioned that. Said something like Clinton was in office 8 years, during that entire time no one suggested rebuilding those Levees. Gore ran against Bush, he never mentioned it, suddenly its all G. Bush's fault, strange isnt it? jdn
