Bushie leaders lack real compassion for the American People. We heard some nice talk today, four days after the storm, but the lack of real concern was apparent.

It is alarming to remember that when Bush decided brain-dead Terri Schiavo needed to be "saved" (an upscale white woman who was beyond salvation on any level) thousands of federal leaders immediately dropped what they were doing and congregated.

But when 50,000 poor blacks are dying in the streets of New Orleans, they take their damn time and stress security, that is talking about shooting looters as a major priority, even though most "looters" are just desperate people trying to get food and water becuse the feds hadn't delivered any. That is the mind-set.

Also apparent today was a continued lack of honesty about the cost of this Iraq War. Clearly it contributed to the disaster, but what was Bush's response? "We must fight for freedom in Iraq". Whose freedom? Meanwhile, Cheney got Halliburton another 500 million dollar no-bid contract.

Bush has not lifted a finger to punish gas-gougers meanwhile and went out of his way praise the people of Texas, though surely the owner of the Astrodome is getting well-paid for his "generosity". yes there are a lot of compassionate people in Texas, but Bush, Cheney and DElay aren't amongst them.
