Thank you so much for being so capable and going to all that trouble. I've just emailed both your very, very good advice and ionesco's to my nephew. I just tried the greyhound link, and although you can't get a person, I see no evidence on the site, and heard none on the phone tree, that, unless you're paying by check, you need ID for a bus. Which would suggest that that might be true of trains, too. (I told that to my nephew, too....)
