Read in NY Times, some N.O. police turned in their badges, it did not say how many.

Someone from the gov't in Baton Rouge. Apparently, before the hurricane, the police were under a lot of scrutiny for corruption and the questionable shooting of a black guy in NO. When the hurricane hit and there was little back up, apparently they did not feel committed to their jobs.
