The subject that I was referring to when I said I didn't believe I brought it up was the 2000 election, just to clarify. In regard to the intensity of dislike for Bush, a lot of Americans like me are afraid that the damage he has done to America may be irreversible, particularly the eight years of his two administrations that we will not have done anything constructive about global warming, the tarnished reputation of America around the world (China is actually more popular than we are at the moment, which is incredible), and the long-term financial damage to the American economy. I don't hate Republicans in general, and would definitely vote for John McCain in the 2008 election if he is running against Hillary Clinton.

It is not just some Americans who feel strongly about Bush. Many Europeans consider him a buffoon, really. I think most of us could agree that he is a polarizing figure, at least.
