Perfect reason to have, not just a gun, but sufficient ammunition.

I started carrying a gun in New Orleans. At that point in time, they did not have Concealed Carry laws, so I would carry a pistol in my hand when walking to and from my car, and leave it lying in plain sight on the seat when I drove, and hand carry it into work. Casually, pointing downward, held against my leg, but in plain sight.

This was when I worked the night shift in a scary neighborhood. Heck there are plenty of scary neighborhoods in New Orleans. Especially at night.

In Louisiana, if you shoot a burglar or even a mugger, you will not get in trouble. The police will thank you.

Now you see why.
