You are correct. Global warming is taking place. The earth is warming up so much, that abondoned farms Vikings used to have in Greenland are being farmed again. These Viking communities died out about 600 years ago because Greenland got too cold to sustain trade and farming. The question, is how much of the current warming is due to CO2 production (by humans), and how much is due to the Sun. Is CO2 a leading indicator of global warming or a lagging indicator of global warming. It should also be noted, that the hottest year (in the modern era) is still 1998. Sooner or later for global warming to be correct, we're going to have average temperatures higher than 1998.
