Bush is ultimately responsible for the flooding of New Orleans and the poor responses to LA and MISS both. It was a national disgrace. We may now have 10,000 dead, three times 9-11 which was the first big disaster Bush failed to guard against after being warned.

It was not just the levee construction cuts Bush made 2003-2004 (more than 80% cuts in their budget bto send money to Iraq instead) but the fact that he's the ultimate boss of FEMA who did a piss-poor planning job. In fact I heard the boss of FEMA is is an old buddy of Bush's who covered up for him on his spotty Air Guard record, in other words who lied for him.

The war in Iraq itself is also clearly to blame because local Guardsmen and their best equipment was on the other side of the planet when needed here. SO that too is Bush's fault.

You can blame others if you like, but the buck stops in the Oval Office on this one, and everyone knows it.

What a dope. They need to have an evacuation plan that can get the people out 24 hours in advance. Planning for that effort needed to be done and in place already...not just 7 days in advance.
