I thought this subject has been sliced, diced, hashed and rehashed, and in the end, the independent audits concluded that Bush, in fact, did carry the vote in Florida by a slim margin.

Why are we still talking about this five years later?

To paraphrase Rodney King, "guys, can't we all just move on?"

Your article, speculative as it was, was written before the vote analysis had been completed.

Bush won the popular vote in Florida.

He won the votes that were counted.
He won the undervotes.
He won the overvotes.
He won the recounts.
He won the media recounts.
He even won the illusory 'disenfranchised' vote.

Nobody in their right mind can claim that Bush lost Florida. If you're still confused by this, go get the media analysis of the Florida vote and see for yourself.
