It has indeed, LB. I think everyone is 'feeling down." But did have a story from this morning that was upbeat, and is a small example of the spirit of Americans...

Went to the local grocery store for a quick run-in about 10:15. Saw 4 Moms and about 9 young kids swirling around a "bake sale table for the Hurricane Victims"....said I'd be out in a minute....

My husband saw them too, and I knew he wanted to donate as well. I came out, got his money, added some of mine, and went over. I asked some of the kids if they had made all the goodies by themselves. One Mom said quietly to me, that the Mom's had made the goodies, but the kids ALL did the frosting and decorating last night on the cookies, cupcakes, and dog biscuits shaped like bones....(The kids are worried about the animals too....)

She said to me when I gave the kids the money, that the parents thought the kids might collect about $100 or so today, and the parents were going to match whatever they collected.

By 10:30 AM the kids had all ready collected $600....and they were just gleeful....

Wish the kids and their parents in the Gulf Coast could know this little story, and all the hundreds of thousands like it, that are going on around the country. Most people really do care, and are trying to do "something" right now.
