No, have never had to use a weapon in self defense. I did have one handy one time when a worker had a psychotic breakdown, but the police showed up and took the guy away. Seemed as if it took them forever to get there, so I had it in my hand where it could not be seen. When the cop got there, I said I had a gun in my hand and was going to put it away. Could see the nervousness on his face.
