I have read papers that suggest they get back those ss dollars more than 3 fold, via federal payments to states for various services, from schools to hospitals.
A giant circle jerk, whatever is true.

foreigners pay property taxes on land owned in the USA.

I believe that's true. What I don't know is whether their foreign governments compensate them for the taxes paid. I've never seen anything on that. But then again maybe I don't care.

Many employers require a SS# for employment, so they simply provide a bogus card to would be employers.

Agreed. Now try to explain this one. The SS# has to be valid or that would immediately pop up as a red flag at the SSA. The SSA knows when a SS# is issued/DOB and would certainly detect a dead person who is working and should be able to detect your three year olds who are working in the meat packing industry. It seems that they should also be able to detect when SS withholdings are occuring simultaneously from different employers in different locations. So it seems to me that with a little automated data analysis on the part of the SSA a fair number of illegals could be easily detected. So other than the US doesn't really want to stop the illegals from working in the US what have I overlooked?
