The Red Cross was ready, willing and able to handle them if the mayor had gotten off his arse and they actually went. Most of them wouldn't have, but the ones who would have were never given the chance and now many of those are dead.

My in-laws in Ohio report that the Presbyterian Church has issued a challenge to their member churches to take on one or more refugee families. Their own church is preparing a vacant parsonage for that very purpose.
