To: Lady Lurksalot who wrote (486 ) 9/5/2005 1:25:24 PM From: Rainy_Day_Woman Read Replies (10) | Respond to of 1460 some how he lost the flowered shirt and stepped off the plane with a Texas A&M T-shirt on, a pair of khaki slacks and the biggest smile I've ever seen the midwest express crew pampered and babied him through the entire flight Crosspoint church members called when they put him on the plane, after it took off and after we got home - actually several of them called last night to see how he was doing we are sending 2 doz yellow roses to Ms M for the extra special care she took of Dad I love TEXAS and TEXANS! they are the most giving people I've ever met Dad said he may cross over to Baptist <g> several things amazed me - for my always jokingly referring to him as 'the quietest man on the planet', he has been talking non-stop - I can tell he needs to do that release, so I listen listen listen the stories are shocking, so much so I'm not sure I can repeat many of them or that I want to - I can't believe what he saw and lived through that he survived at all in that hell hole is astonishing he lost 13 pounds in a week for a timid shy man, I can tell you underneath is a will of iron and the mind of a steel trap - he never lost control, never panic'd, but thought out how to survive and carried the plan through on his way to the superdome he waded through 4 feet of water, tripped over god knows what and fell totally submerged - his entire right hand is black from bruising [he thinks he got it when he fell] we dined and had cocktails on the patio and he talked late into the night - trying to expunge the horror I think thanks again to all for your well wishes, you concern and he told me flat out he will never go back, he could never endure going through that again I am a lucky woman
