I wasn't looking past anything. I take your point.

My counter question is how many people might have died fighting for spots on the busses? I saw an interview the other day of a police officer who was disgusted that the men he was dealing with had no concept of "women and children first." He was clearly agitated over it. So who do you suppose would have gotten the spots on the buses? And how many busses would have been disabled in the process?

You're assuming that the bussing process would have been orderly. Given what has happened, I don't think we can assume that.

sounds like the French who went on vacation with record high heat and as their elderly died few years back.
