Chertoff said, "now is not the time to be pointing the finger of blame"

When FEMA lost track of 10,000 refugees. . .that was the time to point the finger and fire all who were responsible and replace them with people who don't make mistakes when it counts.

When FEMA and/or military turned away the very first professional rescue squad from assisting in search and rescue, or the first emergency supply convoy from reaching its destination the moment access was possible. . . that was the time to point the finger and fire/replace whoever sent that order.

When the FEMA director and anyone else responsible for giving the order to move police and military personnel from search and rescue to the streets for security of property, turbo-charging existing desperation and chaotic behavior into anarchy . . that was the time to point the finger and fire all those whose names appear on the order.

For grossly underestimating the numbers of troops, equipment and supplies necessary for executing an appropriate first response, those person(s) responsible should have been instantly fired .

No, Mr. Chertoff,
"now is not the time to be pointing the finger of blame"
For perhaps hundreds or more souls, now is way too late. Highly experienced professionals should have replaced those vital roles occupied by near-sighted incompetent hacks last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
