>> What about the medical ships that still haven't arrived?

The Comfort requires a week to ten days to get stocked and positioned. This is not an asset that would ordinarily be used under these circumstances and, frankly, may not be needed by the time it gets there.

The Comfort was designed to load in five days, not 7-10 days as you suggest, so it could move quickly in an emergency....say when a horrific hurricane hits. What a concept!

So why wasn't it ready to go when Katrina hit? Why did the other ships carrying necessary supplies as well as earth moving equipment did not leave until Wed. Its called pre preparation. These ships should have been in the Gulf by at least by Tuesday at the latest to be of real benefit.

>> How come the nat. guard didn't get to NO until Friday?

Ask the governor. However, you should keep in mind that they weren't generally thought to be needed until Tuesday, and almost all of the deployed Guard troops have full time jobs and must be contacted and prepared to ship within some number of hours. Combine that with the fact that all but one major highway was impassable, and you MIGHT be able to figure it out.>

No, I can't figure that out. The natural guard is notified ahead of a disaster that they might be called up. People are expected to make arrangements so that they will be ready to move when the disaster hits. Its FEMA's responsibility to make sure the national guard is ready to go. That did not happen. Why?

As to Condi Rice, she *IS* Secretary of State. There is no reason for her to be near the impact area other than the fact her family is there.

The hurricane is an emergency....the nation was in a crisis. No one has job titles during a crisis......and she's an important member of Bush's cabinet. Shopping for shoes in NYC.......the very idea that that ca ca is okay with you.

>>> BTW even your fellow neocons like Tucker Carlson change their tune when they get into the disaster area.

Tucker is a liberal reporter who is clueless on the subject. Nothing new about that.

LOL. He's no liberal.......he is as mean and nasty as the rest of you are.
