I have been arguing the gold angle with General Chen and Elroy for awhile now - as NO proves, I see people raping for sex, killing for food, but I dont see many people sneaking into the stores for gold - can you provide reports to the contrary? Is gold important to those starving folks or dying patients in the superdome - perhaps food and medicine is more important no? I bet a pack of smokes is on more peoples minds than shiny metal. I must have watched too many apocalypse movies when I was younger - Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome - Waterworld - Planet of the Apes - Soylent Green - The Omega Man - The Postman. Why didn't all those folks and monkeys go crazy over shiny metal? They were fighting over pig shit(methane gas), food, bullets, oil, energy, pretty young ladies, why not over shiny metal - who has sold you this lie that shiny metal will protect you against me and chris and mogambo guru with our assault rifles? If things get that bad, chris is not going to ask you for your carrots or your wife or your gold, he is going to shoot you before you shoot him and take what he wants and needs no? Like a poster said here on SI already, hobbes nightmare of lawlessness comes about when the government fails and gold is not going to save you in that environment. The people in the superdome - who died and who lived? The people with gold? I just watched this special on the 1897 gold rush in Alaska, there was this lady who sold apple pies for 5 dollars each - that was a lot of money back in 1897 - she didn't get rich chasing gold - she got rich off of food - what a silly woman - she should listen at all these memes about shiny metal - she was a fool to do what she did no? It confuses me about the mogambo - if things get so bad he feels he has to use his assult rifles - does he really believe GOLD is going to matter at that point? Gold or dollars only have use if people are willing to exchange them for something, if you have the carrots and the guns and the women - why are you going to trade them for shiny metal or green paper?
