The NOPD are pretty much wasted. They should pull the rest of 'em off the line now that the Guard is in NO is size...and get the survivors immediate psychiatric care...they've done all they can.<NG>

I would still prefer flares. They are very cheap (under $2) last for about an hour for the long ones and when you light them up....... they can be seen. and the good ones will light when wet.

Not only that but in Colorado where avalanche survival is a necessity you can light your spare tire to make a tremendous cloud of dense black smoke with a flare.

lets see a cyalum stick do that........
