A stark difference between the city then and now, isn't it? All you need is a mayor and a police commissioner that do not tolerate crime, any crime. Something very different from New Orleans, where crime was tolerated under normal circumstances, and the criminals just took over under special circumstances.

You aren't pretending to know what was happening in NO before the hurricane, are you? I hope not because you might embarrass yourself.

BTW it seems to me that the criminals took over in NYC because of special circumstances [the blackout] just as the criminal element have taken advantage of the flooding of NO and the loss of 200 cops who quit their jobs because they got no backup from the feds for 5 days as promised but then, that's me.

Joe, Something very different from New Orleans, where crime was tolerated under normal circumstances, and the criminals just took over under special circumstances.

That's for sure. New Orleans isn't called "The Big Easy" because of Mardi Gras.
