I heard it's not actually a levee (earthen mound thingy) but the 2 foot thick (not very thick) concrete walls that buckled under the pressure of water running over them.

I think I hear lots of parsing and word smithing going on in the future.

They also should have been ready on Saturday the 27th after reading this board or listening to Joe B on FOX who was calling for potential devastation as highly likely. I guess too many were assuming 125mph while turning far enough away from New Orleans to do any real damage
