Actually, I didn't know he was black until you just told me. I've been reading articles about the things he says and hadn't seen a picture of him. Anyway, the things he says are utterly ridiculous. He's recently been saying things like he thinks the White House might try to have him rubbed out, because he has been yelling at them. What a moron.

Where did you see comments like that........I have not seen him say that anywhere?

If any blame goes around, alot of it should stick to the mayor of the city where all the chaos is going on. What the hell has he done to help the situation?

He got important help for his city by screaming at the top of his lungs. He is to be commended.

What is it with you and the race card anyway? If I say something like "it's the pot calling the kettle black", you respond by saying that I'm racist for having a sentence with the word black in it. You have a serious chip on your shoulder with this whole black thing.

Not at all......when someone makes a blanket statement like you did........."the guy's a moron" without further explanation, then I am going ask for some clarification. Asking if you hold that opinion because he is black is a way of starting out that discussion.

BTW, I'm hispanic and have experienced a few things in my life and I still don't have a chip on my shoulder about it all. I think hyphenated Americans can learn a few things from those of us who deal with life effectively as it comes, instead of blaming everyone else for their problems.

I understand the argument you are making but I don't think its appropriate to the discussion. The people of NO got screwed.....they were in the middle of a flood without the resources to get food or to get out. They needed outside help just as the people in FLA needed it last year. However, unlike the people in FLA, they did not get that help. Consequently, many people became ill and died. Hence, there is good reason to blame those who were responsible.

If you are Hispanic, then you have experienced racism at some point in your life in this country whether you were aware of it or not. Blacks have it much worse than Hispanics. Having said that, I get offended just like anyone else when the race card is used indiscriminately. And I have said repeatedly that race was only one of several factors that contributed to the catastrophe in NO. This situation is much more complicated but people will gravitate to the most obvious reasons when placing blame.
