You have buddies living up in Harlem, NYC??

Huh? I said nothing like that. Either you are playing games, or you been smoking the weed again. So please......get serious.

Taro,

No kidding, as my friends from NYC have told me that has rapidly become a super expensive and fancy place to live now. Much more so than SoHo and Trebeca.
And 30 years ago even the black cab drivers refused to drive in there...

I think it is a bit of an exaggeration. There is a lot of investment going into lower Harlem for renovations (A lot of buildings are sound, good quality, but suffered decades of poor maintenance). But it is mainly for the advanturous types who want to save money (like 2/3 compared to Upper East and West Side).

Some of your friends must either have very rich parents or - they have been very lucky indeed!
No wonder your jealousy of some people shows off.

BTW, this guy is a black guy who has lived there for a long time. He wants to buy a place there, but the rising prices are making it harder for him.

Joe
