Bush, FEMA, Iraq and global warming are to blame for Katrina being so devastating. To a lesser degree Barbour and Blanco are guilty, but remember GW took away most of their National Guard assets and sent them to Iraq. The New Orleans and Mississippi cops are definitely not to blame. They were devastated just like the residents.

Why was there no recovery plan already in place before the storm? That is the big question. The four day lag may have cost hundreds of lives, and Bush's cutting levee protection money may have cost us New Orleans.

Also time for conservatives to quit poo-poo'ing global warming. It's not only real it seems to be accelerating. And the only reason the rightwing fights science on this is that they're protecting big oil, who is busy gouging us mercilessly. Why protect those crooks any longer? Makes no sense at all.
