just fantasies from the political party out of power....
No different from their responses to Hurricane Katrina...

The political party out of power needs to be exhibiting leadership, not partisan bickering if they want to get back into power.

If a sovereign Iraqi government tells the US to leave, you think the US will refuse?

I think we're leaving a base in Tajikistan (or maybe Turkmenistan??) in the next 3-4 months because their (unelected) strong man has asked us to leave. The only base we occupy against the wishes of the local government is in Cuba.
