"I think that part of the reason NO didn't get the help that Florida did is that Jeb Bush was a more effective governor than that of Louisiana."

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean with this? She did touch all the bases with respect to asking for help. So what other hoops do you think she should have jumped through to get help?

There is a concerted effort to divert the blame from Bush and feds to the local level. I suspect Rove is behind it. A lot of the rightwing blogs are making up rumors that are not true. You saw the article about NO letting its prisoners out the streets. Either the article started with a blog or they all picked up on it. And then there is the effort to make it look like the Mayor of NO is slightly off, using the ranting and swearing he did last week and matching it up with this comments said in jest that the CIA may be trying to get him. Since posting with MM, I've heard him make the comments.........they were said in complete jest in the way anyone would who had just stood up to the gov't.

The extent of their loyalty to Bush is profound. They place their loyalty to Bush before the country and other Americans. Its very disturbing.

The degree of the media criticism of Bush over his disaster response has upset them immensely. For many, its the first time that they suspect their situation might be in jeopardy.
