The general has used TEOTWAKI on many occassions MOO - the end of the world as we know it - you think that is being tossed about in jest? I dont think he is buying gold coins and burying them in the ground to be funny. That is a lot of work. Expropriation - hmm - I have read posted here how the gubbment are within thier legal means to come and take all the gold - perhaps where these people live thier governments would not do the same? I know if the swat team with rifles comes in and asks for my gold I am going to hand it over - I bet all these gold bugs will too - perhaps the General will utter those last famous words - over my dead bo... I don't see the US gubbment bankrupting or hyperinflation - you don't either do you? - even if things got really bad it would be deflation as before and not hyperinflation no? that is the ONLY reason I will give mish any credit for his deflation scenario if we are to have any kind of extreme 'flation - to hyperinflate would mean the end and the guys in charge are going to do anything they can to prevent the end. I have a very rich friend in south ga worth many millions of green paper and owner of several businesses with many employees - he has lots of bonds and he bought a huge farm somewhere and has some mexicans working it for him and he stocked it with lots of goats and pigs and crops - now this guy came from NY and is a big time city slicker. I wonder, what does he know that you don't - because again, if the swat guys come and point thier rifles at him for his pigs and goats and land - what makes him think he won't have to hand it over? Perhaps the local gubbment will have a better use for his land making a trailer park to house NO refugees - how could he refuse? I read about the fall of rome from the cato boys, and it seems the only way to escape the leviathon was to move way out - far away from the center and start a farm and be free from all those taxes and such. You could do that then, I don't think you can do that today. Moo what is REAL WEALTH if not gold or land that can be taken away by swat teams with guns? I was in a hotel room in miami one night, and this thug pulled out a gun and pointed at me and my indian friend, and he walked out with our wallets - REAL WEALTH it seems to me is the will to do what other men won't. If you have that - you are very wealthy. Even if you lost it all, you have the will to regain it. When I see oprahs getting so enraged they are willing to pick up a gun and shoot leaders - then maybe I can agree with some of these theories bantered about - but revolutions and change come from the hearts and mind of the people - and I still see far too many pacifists for that. A question for you MOO, I remember history lessons saying in china and russia they rounded up the folks like you - the intellectuals and professors and such and executed them first - now why did these smart folks stay somewhere they could get executed? Didnt the feel the heat that was coming?
