Former First Lady Barbra Bush feels the pain of the peeps of Nwalins:

editorandpublisher.com

Former First Lady Barbara Bush said Monday that living in the Astrodome in Houston was working out well for many of the 15,000 hurricane victims there because they were underprivileged anyway.

Mrs. Bush made her remarks on the National Public Radio program "Marketplace" after visiting hurricane relief centers in Houston with a delegation that included her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, and former President Bill Clinton.

In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: "Almost everyone I’ve talked to says we're going to move to Houston."

Then she added: "What I’m hearing is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality.

"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this -- this [she chuckles slightly] is working very well for them."

The two former presidents have been chosen by George W. Bush to head fundraising efforts for the recovery. Sen. Hilary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama were also present during the Houston tour.

>> Did you see it? It was terrible.

Have you any idea how many times this man's tragedy played out over the last week? Thousands.

It seems there are a group of people who EXPECT that whatever tragedy befalls them the federal government can or should bail them out.

Stop it. You have the sensitivity of a mule. You have never been in a disaster so you have no clue what the experience is like but that doesn't stop you from knowing how disaster victims think and feel. And it just galls you to see them sounding so terribly socialistic........how dare they expect the gov't to help them.

I'll tell you what Ray....you are setting yourself up.......big time. You best learn some compassion soon or the universe is going to come and kick you in the butt when you least expect it.

David,

Newsflash: Our government simply cannot guarantee that everyone will live through a natural disaster

What do you mean? Blame always needs to be assigned to some entity with money. So then, there is no such thing as a disaster or misfortune. These are just opportunities to grab some cash.

There were these idiot bimbos on either CNN or MSNBC talking about how each "victim" of 9/11 got some $5M on average, and how these "victims" should be treated the same.

Of course, it didn't cross their minds that giving away a fortune (from treasury) to the relatives of real victims in 9/11 (those who died) may not have been the right course of action.

Joe
