Shades Re: "Snowed" I tell you how the American public has been snowed; Television. In the very beginning the New York based liberal elites got control of the programming and used the new media to push their agenda on the rest of the country. TV had a particularly strong effect here, after all, we had TV here ten to twenty years before much of the rest of the world. And we just had the three networks and all three were under the sway of the same New York based liberals.

I watched some "evening news" replays from the 1960's and 1970's not long ago and was just amazed at the level of just plain lying dishonesty that was part of every segment. That traitor Cronkite and his imitators like Rather and the rest back then would try to put forward the idea that the extremely slanted and one sided interpretation of any current issue that they projected was the "correct" and the single "American" opinion of the issue, as if they spoke for the whole nation. They did not, of course, the spoke for their liberal masters. Goebbels would have been impressed.

Now with cable and other networks and the internet the networks have to be more careful. And no longer can a TV news anchor pretend to speak "for the whole nation" and get away with it.
