I would agree that Bush is no humanitarian! But I don't think he handled this crisis very well politically, either, and that is more baffling. It's like he somehow just didn't get it. Rambling on about his youthful overindulgences and how Trent Lott's lost house would be rebuilt and he would sit on the front porch showed a very high level of insensitivity to the life and death issues the hurricane victims were facing. I really don't understand what motivated Bush's strange reaction at all. Do you?
