Bush's FEMA is particularly to blame. All the people on the ground, regardless of party, are saying it was the beaurocracy and mainly the federal beaurocracy which failed. The buck stops at Bush's desk. But FEMA is the single most negligent government organization. Again though, if Bush had ordered FEMA to be more responsive they might have been.

FEMA, for instance, did not even call the military for help for two days after Katrina. That is outrageous as we had ships sitting off the coast ready to help. This cost hundreds of lives.

One thing you can do for your country is quit trying to cover up for fat assed greedy politicians like Barbour and Bush-Cheney, whose noses were up their own butts at the time of the hurricane. Also, to demand accountability, and to stop the gas gouging or impose stiff windfall profits taxes on oil companies.
