Shades Re: "gambling" If this was just plain old fashioned honest gambling, like a high stakes poker game or betting on ball games run by your local Dixie Mafia, I wouldn't have any problem with it. <g> But thats not what this is, its a racket, with government with its hand in the till in a big way. If it was real gambling the payout would be high enough that it wouldn't be robbery. But with the government and the casino walking away with half or more of the take its not gambling, it is theft. Ditto with these state lotteries.

Imagine how stupid. On the one hand the government robs from the poor with a low odds gambling racket. With the other hand the government gives out public assistance to the same folks they just robbed.
