I believe Kenneth is confused as are many. When waters heat they evaporate and much fall on the artic regions as snow creating larger deposits and causing the displacement of melt to be equalized.

Loss of land mass doesn't necessarilly mean ocean rising either. Tectonic plate movement may come into play there as well as it does in changing ocean current which are largely responsible for all weather patterns.
