That little piece you posted is very funny, Alan. We don't own, nor have we permanently captured, anything at all in Iraq (although we've sure managed to kill a lot of innocent Iraqis). In the Green Zone, which is our highest level of protected territory bombs are still lobbed in and our own people have died there. We don't even control the road between the Green Zone and the airport, which is really amazing to me. It is an assassination gauntlet, in fact, for Americans and our allies.

I'm not sure what we should do in Iraq. My feelings are really mixed about withdrawing right now, but I am totally clear that the American effort is being really badly run, starting with Rumsfeld, who knows nothing about winning a war and should leave it to the generals.
