I can see how you might think Bush is a sociopath, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. Personally, I think he is a fairly intelligent and sensitive person (both Bono and Bill Clinton, who have spent some time with him, describe him as very quick), but someone whose character was formed so much by wealth and entitlement that he cannot empathize with the plight of most Americans. I think that growing up with people who made vast profits in the oil industry and the other corporations that rape and pillage the earth, without any environmentalist values at all, shaped him in a way that makes him clueless. His mother was quite brutal with him, and he lost his little sister to leukemia, early childhood events that shaped him in ways that make it hard for him to deal with pain in a healthy way. It's too bad he didn't get therapy after he stopped drinking, because he is really bottled up and juvenile emotionally. But I think he is probably a good husband, father and friend. Just totally unsuitable for the demands of the presidency!
