It appears they were urgently needed to hand out flyers and act as props in photo ops... sltrib.com Somehow, it comes as no great surprise that when FEMA was helping out in Florida in 2004 they wanted to coordinate with Bush's campaign managers. The German media, a news show called Tageschau, reported on September 2 that all of the background activity seen going around Bush when he strode through an area was staged. It quickly appeared before he arrived, and just as quickly disappeared after he left. It is beginning to look as if that nasty speculation about FEMA's non-response to New Orleans is because they tend to vote Democratic is true.

After a senators-only briefing by Chertoff and other Cabinet members, Sen. Charles Schumer (news, bio, voting record) said lawmakers weren't getting their questions answered. "What people up there want to know, Democrats and Republicans, is what is the challenge ahead, how are you handling that and what did you do wrong in the past," said Schumer, D-N.Y. Of course, they are not getting answers. Congress is a puppet for the president........they have been emasculated. That's why Bush says he will head up the investigation. That's why Chertnoff said to Congress things were not that bad in NO. That's why O'Connor is coming back to the Supreme Court. This country is in serious danger and few realize it. ted
