When water heats, it evaporates and much is dumped again as snow on the poles. The is where and how the glacial ice gets there. ;^) Water does expand slightly while heated, but a small degree. The evaporated water takes to the skies and lands as rain for our crops and forests. Also as noted for our ice reserve in the artic and antartic. It is all a poetic, revolving symmetry. That being said it isn't an exact constant. It doesn't repeat all traits identically year after year. It simply can't. Too much random inflection. However, over time it is consistent. A balance is created. From time to time the balance shifts radically, but never due to the tiny little animals that inhabit the planet.
