So only wage inflation is true inflation?

Up here, we had wage and price controls in the 70's, but all it did was cause shortages (and some black markets).

We have wage controls now, too, courtesy of foreign labor, but prices are still going up big time for everything they can't make.

I kind of think the inflation versus deflation argument only applies to a time when money was supposed to be worth something versus some other store of value.

This time it really is different.
