I agree... it's not as if they took off and had a few beers, then went to a movie and kept the choppers running in the parking lot... they responded to a call for immediate help to save fellow Americans, they should be commended and awarded for performance of duty above and beyond...

Best to let it drop. They were simply trying to save American lives on the return leg of their flights with empty copters.

They didn't do this on the return leg, they went past their destination and returned much later. They may or may not have saved lives, and if they did someone else would have. They broke a very sacrosanct law and disobeyed their commanders orders.
