I think not. We had a "booming" economy for a long time going into Clinton, and evidence that tax hikes hurt a tad in the midst of plenty, you'll find, exists. But you haven't seen a boom like you'd see if we'd keep taxation way down (and of course government spending along with it). Keeping taxation down will always be key to the best possible world for the little guy.

Your "solutions" are just hopeful patches within a status quo gone awry, and should you get all you think would help (mind you in this country where the 50% richest taxpayers already pay 98% of the taxes), the little guy would remain on a downhill slide.
