I'm wondering if all this semi-avoidable aftermath will lead to any corrective, negative feedback.

Americans at large can only hope the citizens of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana will wake up and vociferously condemn their elected, but grossly inept, local and state politicians. Furthermore, how long will they put up with the self-serving and blatantly shamelessly likes of Jackson, Sharpton, Pelosi, Howard Dean, et. al. playing the "race card" without taking offence?

Unless New Orleans and Louisiana residents as a whole begin to speak up, with rational conviction, on their own behalf, there will nothing learned -- just Bush bashing and business as usual in a few weeks.

So far, there seems to be little evidence of an "awakening."
