Where do they think the 250 or so the mayor had helping came from? And why was he complaining about promises of thousands that hadn't shown up? Why would he have been expecting them? No, she called for the Guard. For some inexplicable reason, like so many inexplicable things during this crisis, they were slow in coming. Not showing up in significant numbers until Dubya made his grand tour. I wonder if there is a connection? I have a suspicion that the governor and bush have locked horns provious to this event. Both are acting like the mayor and police chief of LA during the Rodney King riots who had had a long running feud before the riots. These people are politicians who have learned over the years to bite their tongue. When they can't, particularly during a crisis, you've got to figure they've been feuding for years. ted
