Hello,

I have an question for this thread. I am looking for an online broker that is specifically geared towards daytrading. I would appreciate anyone's recommendation, along with a reason(s) as to why the broker is valuable for daytrading.

Thanks

The most important thing is to join a firm that has cents per share pricing and not a flat ticket price. This way, a trader does not spend a huge amount in commissions while he/she is learning the ropes and trading small size.

Some of the firms you might consider are: Interactive Brokers, RML Trading, MB Trading and Genesis Securities.

Best of luck,
-Eric

You can't beat Brown.

I don't know if they still have their $5 for 5000 share market orders, but the execution time was superb, the instant portfolio updates unbeatable, and the phone service great.

Until they found out I was a Canadian.

I have used many many direct access platforms. My favorite had been Gr8Trade from what used to be ProTrader but it is now a privately used platform and not available to the public. It was also a bandwidth hog and not good to use outside and office.

Now my favorite by far is CyberTrader Pro and if you qualify CyberTrader Elite. It has the cheapest all in per share commission structure you are going to find but really is the best in terms if functionality, speed and reliability. I run my hedge fund through them and am very satisfied. They have a banner on my site and do pay me for it but that was after I became a loyal customer and not related to my posting this info. They have a deal right now for your to get two monitors and stand for free and they are great monitors. Runs til the end of this month.

thestockstalker.com

This offer that cyber trader is giving is the real deal. They are offering two XVIEW 17 inch flat-panel monitors with a very nice stand to traders that open an account and trade at least 40,000 shares a month. This is just under 2000 shares a day and I am quite frankly amazed that the minimums are so small. XView.com is a specialized computer manufacturer in Austin, Texas (as is CyberTrader as was ProTrader) that is very pricey but makes some the best trading computers and monitors available. Most traders find their products cost prohibitive and when Cyber told me they were willing to offer these monitors to new accounts.

Let me know if you have any questions,
Oz
