Hello Hawk, your theory makes sense to me. <I have a personal theory.. and one that get's scoffed at by some of my associates. I believe Iran is intimately involved in providing support to whichever faction can maintain instability in Iraq (with the aim of embarrassing the US and forcing a humuliating withdrawal). But I don't have a lot of evidence that isn't circumstantial (or publicly available).> I know Islam is meant to be all about peace, light, harmony, happiness, and simple adulation of Allah and his Mohammedan prophets, but Iran is out to get a bunch of nukes and nuclear bombs are anything but peaceful. I would be astounded if Iran and China aren't doing all they can to militarily and economically outmanoeuvre the USA, with Russia helping out, and North Korea fully aligned with Hu Jintao's plans, who is giving a nod and wink to a flanking manouevre against the USA, South Korea and Japan in regard to Taiwan. I would be astounded if Iran isn't doing all it can to destabilize Iraq and cause the USA as much grief as possible in Iraq. Being unilaterally dumped into the Axis of Evil by the biggest monster the planet has ever seen, with military capability of terrifying proportions, it would be weird for Iranians to not be doing all they can to defend themselves against the Great Satan. It's absurd that Iran pretends their noocular power plant is for making lilting happy music and to shore up their energy supplies when they are in the process of spending $billions to build a pipeline for fossil fuels across to India. tribuneindia.com It would make a lot more sense to use that fossil fuel right there in Iran rather than spend a fortune on a pipeline and also spend a fortune on a nuclear power plant. That is unless there is something else other than industrial energy which is wanted by Iran. The answer is only that they want to be able to blow up infidels or anyone else who they decide is a mortal threat [or simply not complying with Islamic Jihad edicts and fatwahs]. The proof that they want nuclear bombs is the pipeline to India. Who do they want to nuke? Usually it's neighbours such as Saddam, but of course the USA would be an excellent target too. Don't forget Israel. Pakistan and India have nukes, so do Russia and China. Israel is loaded up with umpty megatons. So what the heck, they should too, they figure. So, we have a problem Houston! Actually, Houston does have a bit of a problem right now, but leave that aside as it isn't likely to go nuclear. What to do about it all? I know what needs doing, but that's different from what will be done. What will be done is derived from the Jewish 'chosen people' nonsense, the Islamic Jihad head-hacking mania, the USA unilateral power MADness and the burgeoning hordes in Pakistan, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Indonesia, Egypt, etc. With China's racist megalomania and Russia's continuing struggle for survival added to the brew, the end of history is not yet. We have yet to see the amalgamation into a world federalist system of some sort followed by the cyberspace revolution into an ethereal community of interest superseding tribal territorial relationships. To be followed by evolution of mind into a suprasomatic form. Busy busy busy. Nature isn't finished yet. Mqurice PS: Note cool use of "racist" word, to ensure a winning position in any argument. Look at the fact that Iranian Shiites (Hamas) are directing most of the terrorism in Sunni based Palestine. Why in the world would the second class Shiites do anything to help the Sunnis? The Shiites have been thoroughly repressed in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, and every other country in the ME. Obviously, the Iranians enjoy the bloodsport regardless of whom they are supporting. I think the underlying reason behind our mission in Iraq is to defuse all Iranian aggression within the area by restoring Shiite power in Iraq. As we restore Shiite power in Iraq, that will give the Iranians more constructive ways to spend their time. The same will be true in Palestine. Eventually, all of these Arabs are going to have to grow up and get to work. The price of oil will only go so high before people develop alternate forms of transportation. At $65 a barrel, it is much easier to find competing forms of energy. Eventually, car companies will realize that people will buy just as many cars whether they run on gas or electricity.
