I thought the way Portland was layed out is just awesome. Interaction with the river, very walkable, and trees everywhere. Many Florida cities of the same size could do well to attempt to duplicate it down here. Negatives to me on downtown where it just didn't feel safe even though it was white and no real signs of a ghetto. Thought it would be much more professional class. Mountainmen, hippies and young far out rebels seemed to roam the streets. Very few good looking woman also a major negative. Even with all the perceived negatives I just mentioned it still is head and shoulders above any Florida city IMHO.

That whole area is great if you're an athlete or an outdoors person. I used to live across the Columbia River in Vancouver Washington. Loved every minute of it.
